Power of Running

Our story

One table, always on

How a single blackjack table became a whole arcade, and why we decided it should never sell you anything.

The idea

The Power of Running started with a small question: what would a card table look like if it had been drawn for a screen that could only manage a few dozen colours and a grid of fat square pixels? We liked the answer enough to build it, and then we liked the table enough to stop there. This arcade has one machine, and that is a choice rather than a shortage.

A single game means we can spend all our attention on getting it right. The deck is modelled card by card, aces genuinely switch between 1 and 11, and the dealer follows one fixed rule that you can read before your first hand. When a round ends, the coins move exactly as the rules say they should, down to the last one.

The name

People sometimes expect a sports site when they hear the name. The running we had in mind is the arcade kind: a cabinet left switched on, screen still busy, ready the moment someone steps up. One-Up Twenty-One is meant to feel like that — no queue, no login, no waiting for anything to download. Open the page and the cards are already shuffled.

The game’s own name borrows from the old habit of awarding an extra life, the little bonus that let you keep going. Here the bonus is simpler: run out of coins and the Reset button hands you a fresh stack. Continue as many times as you like.

What we promise

We are a social gaming site in the plainest sense. Nobody can wager real money here, and nothing you win at the table has any value off it. There are no coin packs, no premium tables and no prizes, and we do not plan to add any. The site is intended for adults aged 18 and over, and the rules for using it live on our Terms page.

We also try to be a good neighbour to the people who play. That means no countdown timers nagging you to come back, no streak rewards for daily visits and an honest Responsible Play page for anyone who wants to step away. If something looks wrong, or you simply have a question about how the dealer thinks, the Support page explains how to reach us.
